UPDATE FROM EDDINGTON IN RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
EDDINGTON FACILITIES UPDATE
The unprecedented circumstances bought about by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the UK and around the world have meant that many of our community facilities have temporarily closed or are operating minimally in accordance with the UK government and/or University of Cambridge guidelines.
The Storey’s Field Centre is closed. The University of Cambridge Primary School and Eddington Nursery remain open to support families who the UK government has defined as key workers towards the pandemic.
Whilst the open spaces remain available (we encourage recommended social distancing etiquette), certain play facilities and leisure equipment will be closed until further notice.
SAINSBURY'S SERVICES AT EDDINGTON
In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, Eddington Sainsbury's is now open from 08.00 to 20.00 Monday - Saturday and 10.00 to 16.00 on Sundays.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the supermarket will dedicate 08.00 to 09.00 to serving elderly customers, disabled customers and carers
Anyone with NHS ID will be able to shop in store from 07.30 to 08.00 Monday - Saturday.
OTHER EDDINGTON UPDATES
At Eddington, temporary retail outlets and sporting activities have been suspended until further notice and the Eddington Beer Garden (which was scheduled for 27-28 March) has been postponed.
On a positive note, we have seen a huge willingness to support others in the community who are self-isolating, unwell, or are vulnerable. The University will be signposting people who want to help by directing them to organised channels as and when the opportunities arise.
We wish you and your families good health during these uncertain times.
